Dr. James J. Sanitato is recognized as a premier surgeon in Cincinnati, Ohio and specializes in corneal surgery, cataract surgery, and refractive surgery. Dr. Sanitato is a Magna Cum Laude graduate of John Carroll University. He received his medical degree from the Medical College of Ohio and completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Cincinnati. Dr. Sanitato completed a Corneal and Refractive Surgery fellowship at Louisiana State University. He spent nine years as an assistant and associate professor of ophthalmology at the University of Cincinnati Medical Center. Dr. Sanitato has been in private practice for the last eight years.

Dr. Sanitato is board certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology and is a fellow in the American Academy of Ophthalmology. He is a member of the American Society of Cataract and Refractive Surgery and other professional medical societies. He is the Assistant Medical Director for the Cincinnati Eye Bank. Dr. Sanitato is the team ophthalmologist for Xavier University’s Athletic Department and the Cincinnati Reds Major League Baseball team.
